“Bar and Breakfast” is not only a name, but also a concept that defines the character of this establishment and at the same time opens a new format for the city. The task was clear: to create a space where the boundaries between morning and night, coffee and cocktail, casual and driven are erased. A place that invites to breakfast and lingers until midnight. A space in which each visit feels natural, intuitive and at the same time special.
Main Spaces
The institution is located in the heart of Lviv's historic center, on the first floor of a century-old building. The first strong visual accent is the large arched windows, which can be fully opened — thanks to this, the internal and external environments merge organically. Inside, guests are greeted by a high hall with a small elegant bar in the corner and numerous bistro tables. The atmosphere is relaxed and energetic at the same time, accentuated by specially made retro lighting panels on the ceiling.
True to the principle of authenticity and adaptive rethinking, we have retained the existing elements of the building. One of the most striking discoveries was the green tiles of the mid-twentieth century, which we integrated into the new design. She added depth and historical sound to the space.
The second hall focuses on a large bar, where alcohol shelves merge with massive columns, creating a bar-meets-club concept. The glass blocks in the windows let soft light through, forming a chamber atmosphere. Small tables and vintage chairs add simplicity to the charm. The result was a space at the same time “raw” and elegant — a balance of imperfect and elegant.
Optimizing planning through steel solutions
In the third hall, we sought to optimize the space by making it more dynamic. The solution was a raised podium, which divided the room into two zones: the lower one - the traditional restaurant accommodation, the upper one - the seating on the side with an open view. In the depths of the hall, the passage leads to the VIP lounge, which adds to the space of privacy and continuity of movement.
The interior is built on environmentally friendly materials: stainless steel, plywood, recycled concrete terrazzo and linoleum. On site we found authentic Austrian terrazzo tiles, which were dismantled and reused for the podium. This idea is supported by recycled Soviet parquet and colored linoleum tables — all this forms a sustainable philosophy of the project.
Why modern bathrooms are important in interior design
Today, bathrooms have become an integral part of the hospitality experience. Their functionality, cleanliness and aesthetics form the overall impression of the establishment. We carefully selected every detail — from furniture and color palette to mirrors, faucets, and trash cans with towel holders — to ensure comfort and convenience.
This project demonstrates how a modern restaurant interior can be at the same time aesthetically exciting and as functional as possible — thanks to the thoughtful use of sustainable materials, space optimization and multifunctional design solutions.
