Villa in the middle of the city bustle, not far from the center of Lviv, both actual and historical. A villa that received a second life, reincarnation and love.

Primarily, the house was built in 1906, and renovated in 1922 by the architect Josef Hornung and acquired the appearance that we saw it last time. Unfortunately, in recent years, even decades, no one has lived in the building and it has become extremely neglected.

Regarding the villa and its location - it is freestanding and located on an elongated plot in a depth so that you can not immediately see it from the street. In general, the area of Piskova Street is with classic dense historical buildings, but this house was more fortunate. Even the historic garden around the villa we have preserved. Where, by the way, the quince grows, the name of which the project received.

Modern forms have become a lifesaver for us, which allowed to fully reveal the potential of space. We followed the principle of contrast - very concise, light white forms border on historic architecture. In this way, we made an incredible, even unforgettable space of the living room and kitchen of the first floor, because now there are large windows, a lot of light from different sides. The same with the second floor is the area of bedrooms and bathrooms. We also excavated the basement where there is another bedroom and storage rooms.

The project is very extensive and took us 4 years from thought to implementation. But now we are sure that it is not a shame to leave ourselves for other generations. Something that will live forever.
