Our goal of submitting the project to the competition is to attract the attention of the professional community to the development of a new culture of biodegradable materials from renewable resources in Ukraine. We strive to support colleagues who are just beginning their journey in innovation, and at the same time create a request to appear in Ukrainian competitions of the category “Innovations”.
About the material
The heart of our development is a biodegradable thermosetting resin based on glycerin, citric acid and starch. It is a universal matrix for pressing composites with any natural filler. In the pilot version, we use technical hemp — residues from textile production. But the spectrum is much wider: agricultural waste (beets, carrots, apples, hay, husks), secondary raw materials (wool, cotton, flax). Each filler adds unique properties — from tactile to aromatic.
Physical and chemical properties
Compared with formaldehyde materials (MDF, chipboard, OSB), our composite has better characteristics without toxic emissions. It can be formed by pressing into cosmetic packaging, furniture, acoustics, facade or decoration panels. The cost of 1 m² starts from 90€, varying depending on the filler and requirements.
Philosophy
We want to inspire society to take responsibility for the material decisions we use every day. Bioplastics should become the new norm, and wild, “naked” materials are perfect in their naturalness.
Sustainability is the new sexy.
