This interior has become the third location for the MONLIS nail-studio network, which has been developing in the field of nail aesthetics for more than 10 years. The task was to preserve the signature palette (gray, black and pink) and at the same time give the salon a unique character, because each of their spaces has its own color intonation. This time an additional accent was a deep shade of burgundy - rich, wine, with a slight taste of passion.
The inspiration for the design, as always, was the room itself — its architectural plastic, flat ceilings, air and shadows. The space turned out to be difficult: different ceiling heights required flexible solutions. Where it was too low, they worked with intimacy; where it was high, they emphasized volume and looked up. This game of verticals became the axis of the whole idea.
The main feature is duality.
We divided the salon into two parts. The first is open space: lively, energetic, full of movement and social interaction. Here, customers meet, discuss news, wait for services in soft armchairs - “pumpkins” or swing on hanging swings.
The second area is the lounge. It is hidden behind glass partitions, in the semi-darkness, in the embrace of rosaries in the style of the tropics - something between Asian islands and a dream of vacation. It is there that clients lie on the procedure, close their eyes - and fall into complete zen. The same painting is duplicated in the bathroom, so that the space communicates with itself.
The room was rented, so wet areas could not be transferred. But we creatively approached the limitations: the former shower cabins turned into pedicure zones, and the old niches into new functional units. Our rule: if something can not be hidden, make it a chip.
A special pride is the Ukrainian footprint.
99% of everything in the cabin is made in Ukraine. From furniture to wall painting, from armchairs to lamps — everything is created by the hands of Ukrainian designers and craftsmen. Even in Munich, this interior breathes love for the native. For the owner, Ukrainian by origin, this was a fundamental position: to support her — even thousands of kilometers from home.
