Marigold - modular ceramic vase lamp

The name Marigold refers to the Ukrainian marigold flower — a symbol of warmth and protection — and at the same time alludes to the glow of light that shapes the character of the object. This duality was the impetus for the creation of a transformer lamp, combining a traditional image and a modern solution.

Marigold is an object that consists of two functional elements: a lamp and a vase. They can be used together or separately, changing the composition depending on the mood: add flowers or branches or leave only the light source. Thanks to the modular shape, the upper part is removable, and the object easily adapts to the space.

The base is made by hand from chamotte clay using modern and traditional processing methods: milking, boiling, hand molding, angobes and glaze.

The lampshade is made by casting from recycled paper — it is a material and shape that consciously oppose template solutions and at the same time offer an answer to the environmental challenge.

Each specimen has a unique plastic: handwork, lively lines and asymmetry make the shape non-replicated. The common white base works as a visual core of the composition, the upper parts are variable, can be made in other colors and textures.
