The private house was designed for a family with two children of school and preschool age and two cats.
The designer faced the task — to embody in the interior the charismatic character of the customer, who likes sometimes at first glance incompatible things. So the project became
the personification of eclecticism, in which there is a place for bright colors, artistic solutions, glossy classical elements, golden surfaces, animalistic motifs, marble and modern design.
After a long life in the apartment, customers dreamed of a spacious, light-filled house, in which there will be many open spaces with large windows. In this house they wanted to celebrate life - bright and luxurious. At the same time, there was a need for silence and comfort, as well as a place for creative flight of imagination.
The first floor of the house is conditionally divided into the left public and the right private parts.
The meeting place of these parts is the large festive hall with access to the terrace and the descent to the ground floor.
The customer travels a lot and is interested in fashion, so the inspiration for the designer was the world of fashion designer Roberto Cavalli and bright colors reminiscent of traveling to exotic countries.
“At first it seemed an unrealistic task — to combine several different worlds in the interior. On the other hand, it was an interesting challenge, because it was possible to let go of the imagination, go beyond the usual and mess creatively,” says designer Anastasia Lukashova.
The cozy hallway is illuminated by artistic sconces from Aromas del campo and ceiling lamps from Nuura. Color adds a table for trifles from Poltrona Frau. A floor hanger with a marble shelf, a trio of rotating rounded mirrors and a banquette were custom made according to the designer's sketches.
Large glass doors with handmade brass handles lead to the festive hall, where a handmade hanging glass installation plays a major role. It was developed and implemented by the Expolight team. Programmed lighting scenarios allow you to vary the atmosphere depending on mood and needs. Metal handrails are made according to the designer's sketches from steel coated with titanium nitride. Yellow metal continues its history with brass inserts in the mirrors and on the floor. Portals and window sills are decorated with pieces of gold potash, their solemnity is supported by sconces from DCW Editions.
The continuation of the festive story in the house is the dining room with a fireplace, which opens to two rooms (dining room and living room). The family gathers at a large table from Cattelan Italia, surrounded by soft chairs from Cassina. The highlight of the dining room is the decadent chandelier from Serip with metal twigs and frosted glass droplets made of multicolored glass. The customer loves color, so she chose the color version of the chandelier.
One of the walls was decorated with milled panels with metallized painting. Her animalistic pattern is a reference to the aesthetics of Roberto Cavalli, one of the customer's favorite fashion designers. Wall panels hide the entrances to utility rooms.
The dining room and the kitchen are united by a window, which on the kitchen side is part of the lifting metal facades that cover the hidden functional apron. The kitchen is minimalist and functional, without hinged cabinets above the work surface. The countertops are made of textured marble.
A special place for the customer is the bathroom, because it is an important ritual and a place of relaxation. The Relax Design bathroom itself was placed near the window overlooking the green slopes. The overall mood of the bathroom is subdued and relaxing, as promoted by several lighting scenarios, from festive with chandelier from Aromas del campo to nuanced with backlights and chromotherapy in the shower from Gessi.
Graffiti and gray-yellow color scheme - such was the wish of the customer regarding the design of the eldest son's room. The accent of the space was the wall calligraphy of the Ukrainian artist Alexander Stia. On the part of the artist, the condition was creative freedom, because calligraphy for him is a meditation, in the process of which thoughts are transferred to paper or to the wall, as in this case.
“Looking at the font, you can compose the words yourself, as in a rebus or puzzle. This is the essence of abstract calligraphy — the viewer does not throw the text directly in the eye. Here, first of all, forms and compositions that evoke emotion should be perceived,” says Alexander Stia about his own work.
The two-storey room is divided into zones — the lower tier for study, the upper — for rest. The floors are connected by metal spiral staircases, which were made according to the sketches of the designer.
The designer had the greatest freedom of creativity in the children's bathroom, where the only condition from customers was: color and bright. The walls and floor of the room are decorated with ceramic mosaic with a solid pattern. The space between the bathroom and the shower and the toilet was made of yellow glass blocks. Accent red plumbing from Fantini as well as Laufen by Kartell furniture and mirrors completed the space. A variety of lighting scenarios are provided by Flos suspensions, Vibia sconces, spotlights and backlights.
“Children do not like to wake up in the morning and go to the bathroom. I wanted to change this, createda cheerful bathroom that will cause a smile every time and fill with energy,” says designer Anastasia Lukashova.
