HG-31 — renovation of an attic in the center of Oslo
Joint project of Predio development company and Ukrainian agency IK-Architects
Concept
The main focus of the project was the domed crystal skylight window structure, which transforms the attic space of HG-31 into a real architectural gem. Thanks to its shape resembling a cut crystal, the window fills the interior with natural light and opens up panoramic views of the historic part of the city and the modern residential quarter.
The goal of the team was to create a functional and at the same time cozy space in which residents could add their own personality.
Planning solutions
The space is organized in two levels:
The lower level is divided into a public area (foyer, kitchen-living room) and a private area (two bedrooms and bathroom).
The upper level includes a mezzanine with lounge area and an outdoor terrace for relaxation or barbecue with incredible views of the city and fjord.
The central element was the multifaceted window dome, which sets the rhythm and character of the entire space.
Materials and atmosphere
The project focuses on the use of natural materials: parquet floors, wooden decorative elements and warm textures combine the interior into a single organic environment. The combination of natural light and wood creates an atmosphere of comfort and harmony.
Collaboration and meaning
HG-31 is the result of cooperation between Predio, a developer specializing in the renovation of attic spaces in the center of Oslo, and the Ukrainian architectural bureau IK-Architects, which has been working for more than 10 years in the direction of modern housing, Scandinavian design and minimalism.
The project is an example of how architectural solutions can not only restore historic buildings, but also create a new quality of life in the city — through sustainability, design and functionality.
