First presented at Salon Art + Design in New York, Bryla is at the intersection of sculpture and function.

Both a cabinet and a sculptural object, it embodies a balanced force and tells the story of harmony achieved when individual elements support and reinforce each other.

The designers, Anna and Sergey Bayersdorf, focused on the interaction of different materials and shapes, showing how unique components can be combined into a single composition. This philosophy goes beyond design, becoming a metaphor for life and nature, where each element plays a role in creating a harmonious whole.

The name “Bryla”, which means “brick” in Ukrainian, indicates the inspiration of the work: it carries connotations of strength, steadfastness and steadfastness.

Created by Ukrainian craftsmen using glass, wood and liquid metal, this collectible is the result of a balance between traditional techniques and modern experiments.

As described in the journal Domus, “the modules are connected like vertebrae, each surface reflecting the environment as if the material breathes.”

Bryla is a work that resonates on many levels: as a testimony of craftsmanship, as a reflection on balance and as a symbol of Ukrainian design that universally speaks of sustainability and harmony.
